Burns Series 100 Thermocouples


Series 100 is a collection of the most frequently requested Thermocouples designed for industrial temperature measurement including thermocouple types, probe styles, lead wire configurations, thermowells, connection heads as well as options and custom designs.
These standard sensors look like familiar configurations on the outside, but inside they’re different. The Series 100 features a proven, rugged design that utilizes mineral insulated bare wires in a metal sheath and special limits thermocouple wire (per ANSI MC 96.1) to ensure reliable performance. Design and construction details, as well as associated temperature ranges for standard thermocouple types, are outlined in the Performance Specifications.

"A" Style
General Purpose Direct Immersion Assembly - Suitable for mounting with or without well into tanks, pipes, ovens, furnaces, ducts, kilns, process vessels and more.


"C" Style
Spring Loaded for Thermowell Assembly - When installed in a thermowell, this style is ideal for flow rates or product viscosity that would damage a more delicate direct immersion probe. Spring loading provides protection from strong vibrations. Also, sensor can be easily removed from the thermowell without removing the connection head, extension nipple, or related conduit and wiring.


"K" Style
Bayonet, Twist-lock, Spring Loaded for Thermowell Assembly - Features easy access to the element with its quarter-turn bayonet lock fitting which engages with the Burns number 5 explosion proof connection head.


"L" Style
Spring Loaded Hex Fitting for Thermowells - Features Burns' self-contained spring loaded hex fitting. This makes it ideal for mating to virtually any connection head or transmitter assembly.


"B" Style
Variable Immersion Assembly - A compression fitting may be used with the "B" style to vary the immersion length. (compression fitting optional)


"D" Style
Capsule Style With Plain Sheath - For applications that require one diameter for the entire sheath length. (compression fitting optional)


"G" Style
Capsule Style - Can resist 100% humidity. Ideal for environmental chambers, underground conduits, etc.


"P" Style
Plug Style - Can be easily and quickly connected or disconnected. (compression fitting optional)
